SAMBULANCE partners with local construction theme park to host annual fundraiser
West Berlin, N.J. – The New Jersey-based SAMBULANCE program, a 501 (c)3 non-profit with a mission to foster safety education within the special needs community, is partnering with Diggerland USA for a summer gala. The 3rd annual event, Dig Dine Drive, will take place Saturday, June 2nd from 6:00 – 10:00 PM at the park.
Tickets to the Dig Dine Drive event are available to the public and include an evening of live entertainment, a BBQ buffet, and access to the nearly 20 acres of attractions at Diggerland USA. All proceeds from the event will go to the SAMBULANCE. New to the event for 2018, The Dirt Games gives teams the opportunity to flex their muscles in competitions ranging from tire flipping to tractor pulls. If eating is more your forte, registration for the Dietz & Watson Hot Dog Eating Challenge is available.
“The additions to this year’s event are both exciting and extremely important for our program,” said Annie Peters, Executive Director of the SAMBULANCE. “As we introduce a summer camp for individuals to work on prevocational skills, more funding is needed. This event is paramount in allowing us to continue offering programming to individuals with special needs that really need it.”
In the 2016-2017 school year the SAMBULANCE reached over 20,000 students with special needs throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The program offers free safety training to help familiarize students with emergency vehicles, 9-1-1 procedures and first aid. In addition to traveling to schools and organizations with a full-sized ambulance, Peters also coordinates and organizes exclusive events at Sahara Sam’s Oasis and Diggerland USA for the special needs community. The addition of this year’s summer camp will expand programming to teach members of this community prevocational skills.
“Partnering with Annie and the SAMBULANCE to host this event is exciting for us,” said Ilya Girlya, CEO of Diggerland USA. “The addition of The Dirt Games gives Diggerland an opportunity to show case our unique machines on site and allows the public a chance to show off their skills.”
SAMBULANCE also partners with Diggerland USA to host special needs events and has an ongoing partnerships with many organizations in the community, who are providing support for the June 2nd fundraiser. Additionally, a number of local and national companies have donated over $5,000 in prizes for The Dirt Games.
